Graduation Requirements

What you need to earn your Bayview High School diploma

To graduate from Bayview High School, students must earn a minimum of 24.0 credits, pass the California High School Exit Examination (or approved alternative), complete 30 hours of community service, and maintain satisfactory attendance throughout their four years.

English Language Arts 4.0 Must include English 9, 10, 11 & 12
Mathematics 3.0 Must include Algebra I or higher
Science 3.0 Must include 2 years of lab science
Social Studies 3.0 World History, U.S. History, Gov/Econ required
World Language or Fine Arts 2.0 Must be in the same language/discipline
Physical Education 2.0 Required in 9th & 10th grade
Health 0.5 Typically completed in 9th grade
Electives 6.5 Any approved courses
TOTAL 24.0 Minimum to graduate

📋 Additional Requirements

  • 30 hours of community service
  • Senior Capstone Project (12th grade)
  • Satisfactory attendance record
  • No outstanding obligations (library books, fees)

🏆 Honors Diploma

Students who complete at least 3 AP courses with scores of 3 or higher, maintain a weighted GPA of 4.0 or above, and complete 60+ community service hours are eligible for the Bayview High School Honors Diploma.
